Stay Up to Date

Back to School

As students settle back into the classroom, now is a great time to make sure your child’s vaccinations are up to date. Vaccines help protect your child, their classmates, and our entire community from preventable illnesses.

Check your child’s immunization record and talk with their healthcare provider about any vaccines they may need.

For information about childhood vaccines and Kentucky immunization requirements, visit the Kentucky Department for Public Health Immunization Branch:

Prepare for Cold/Flu Season

Early preparation is key to a healthier respiratory illness season. Now is the time to make sure you and your family are prepared by staying up to date on recommended vaccines, practicing good hand hygiene, keeping at-home COVID/flu tests available, and knowing when to stay home if you’re sick. A little preparation now can help protect you, your family, and our community in the months ahead.

MORE THAN JUST A RASH

Measles is a highly contagious virus that spreads through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. It can cause high fever, cough, runny nose, red or watery eyes, and a rash—and in some cases can lead to serious complications such as pneumonia or swelling of the brain.

Vaccination is the best protection against measles. Two doses of the MMR vaccine provide the best protection for you, your family, and your community.
