Michael W Johnson Jr is 18 years old and a resident of Irvington Ky. He attends Breckinridge County High School and is a senior, expected to graduate in 2023. Michael is the youngest son out of four children to Michael and Shanna Johnson Sr.
Michael was diagnosed with diabetes at the tender age of 11. On December 23, 2015 Michael was rushed to Norton’s Children’s Hospital with a blood sugar reading of 545. Despite all the challenges of being a diabetic, Michael keeps his faith through God that “no weapon form against him shall prosper.” Anybody that knows Michael knows he loves to eat. Michael’s favorite foods are fruit of any kind like melons, berries, grapes, and oranges just to name a few. Vegetables, Chinese food, cheese, shrimp, fried chicken and don’t forget the biscuit with the gravy!
Michael LOVES Football!!!! Michael started playing little league football at the age of 4 for AL Bayou Canes; until he moved to Ky and has been a Tiger ever since. Ever since Michael was little all he wanted to do was run the ball. Michael has participated in the Norton’s Children’s diabetic athletic program. Michael just completed his senior year as a Tiger Football Player. The 5’10, 190 pound Running Back dream is to graduate high school, go off to college and one day play in the NFL. Michael encourages younger children that are diabetic, that they can do anything even with diabetes. Some people throughout the community may knew him as Michael Johnson, MJ or Big Mike but his family knows him to be a sweet young man that has a smile that can brighten any room. Michael wants to encourage every young boy and girl to live life to the fullest, laugh through the pain and to love with no regrets.
